The Company
At Kumbaru, our dedication to sustainable agriculture goes beyond a simple passion: it is an unbreakable commitment.
We are inspired by the adaptability and resilience of the Chañar, the emblematic tree of the company, that grows and blooms in the most challenging conditions.
We work with a highly trained team, new technologies, and strict quality standards to offer quality walnuts to international markets.
Our plantations in the middle and lower valleys of Río Negro province are the southernmost in the world and comprise 800 hectares of Chandler walnuts. Each walnut we harvest contains the unique essence and vitality of the Patagonian lands, and this is our hallmark.

Kumbaru’s farms cover more than 5,500 hectares, which stand out due to their biodiversity and native flora and fauna. Currently, 800 hectares are devoted to the production of Chandler walnuts.
Our operations are concentrated in northern Patagonia, with both farms situated on the banks of the Rio Negro. This location allows us to efficiently utilise our resources through the implementation of pressurized irrigation methods, which ensure careful management of water.
This irrigation system both optimises the growth of our walnuts and protects the trees from frosts, enabling us to achieve consistent and high-quality production.
Our agronomic management practices are supported by our secondary activities of forage and sheep production, which contribute to the restoration of carbon in the soils. The combination of these two production activities is a key part of our technical approach to sustainability, developing and maintaining a high level of biodiversity and biological activity in our agroecosystem.
Products
We produce high quality Chandler walnuts as a result of our technical approach and agronomic management plan.
Processes
We work with a systemic vision throughout the production cycle. We adopt a holistic approach to managing soils, which was developed by our experts on regenerative agriculture.
We use cover crops that improve soil health, promote nutrient retention and increase water holding capacity. This not only benefits our crops but also helps to mitigate the impact on the environment and to preserve existing natural resources.
Our team, composed of expert and passionate individuals that share our values, works diligently to refine processes and is trained regularly to ensure that we continue as leaders in sustainable agriculture.
At Kumbaru, every action is driven by a forward-looking approach, where prosperity and care for the planet go hand in hand.
